Introduction
The Bribar allround professional table tennis bat is aimed towards intermediate players. In this review we will consider how it compares to other bats, the training quality and who it is more suited towards. Buying a table tennis bat can become very overwhelming, especially for those trying to advance from beginner to intermediate levels. There are so many different rubbers and blades to choose from and so much research to perform. I have done some research for you and I believe this product to be a great bat for any beginner looking to advance to the next level and, any intermediate players looking for a better bat.

Rubbers and Blade
First we will have a look at what blade and rubbers you will be using with this bat. The rubbers are the same for both the forehand and backhand. This being JOOLA Zack. ‘Zack is a high quality, long life rubber offering a great balance of speed and spin, but characterised primarily by feel, placement accuracy and spin tolerance.’ These are a German rubber designed for control, it offers a great balance between speed and spin with its main focus on control and feel.
The blade is a Joola Falcon Allround. ‘The expanded touch phase results in optimum control which enables you to play a total range of strokes, from topspin to chop and block in complete confidence.’ Like with the rubbers, this blade is optimized for control.
This bat is custom made, this means if later on you wish to keep the blade but change your rubbers, you will be able to do so with ease.
Playing Experience
When I first started out playing, moving from being a beginner to more of an intermediate player, I played with this bat for a few months. My overall playing experience with it was very positive. Before I had only ever borrowed a bat from my local church, this bat had no grip at all. Moving to this bat was a big game changer for me. In this section I will break down my opinions of using this bat in different shots and situations.
- Topspin – I found it very easy to generate topspin on my shots when switching to this bat. I found it was much easier to grip the ball. My topspin developed massively just from switching bats, I had not changed my technique but the difference in results was amazing. Not only could I get much more spin on the ball, I was able to keep the trajectory much lower.
- Drives – This is the shot I found the least difference in. As there is no spin required for a drive, I was able to do this with my old bat with no grip on the rubbers. However, I was able to get much more speed in my drives using the Bribar allround professional bat with a lot more accuracy and control.
- Serve and Receive – Before trying this bat I had never been coached on how to serve therefore, I had no spin on them. Learning how to serve with this bat allowed me to progress a lot quicker, getting a lot of spin on the ball compared to my previous serves. Returning serves was probably the most difficult to do with this bat. When pushing a serve back to begin with, when I did not have the correct technique, I found the ball going back fairly high and with not much spin. However, as I started to learn the correct technique to pushing, I was able to start keeping the ball lower to the net and add my own spin on the ball. I also found my flicks were a lot more consistent as my rubbers now had grip to allow me to get the spin on the ball that I needed.
Training Quality – How Does it Compare to Other Bats
Compared to beginner bats this bat is definitely a step up. It has more speed and spin than beginner bats, but most importantly it has a lot more control. This allows you to keep the ball on the table a lot more while also going for some bigger shots trying to get more speed or spin on the ball. This bat is suitable for anyone wanting to progress to an intermediate standard. Although it is not as fast or spiny as other high end bats, this is not needed for the beginner/intermediate players as it will take away the element of control which is the most important. For those of you using bats with ‘dead’ rubbers or a beginners bat I would definitely recommend switching to the Bribar allround professional bat to take your game to the next level.
Pricing – Is it Worth it?
I personally believe the Bribar allround professional bat is a great purchase for any intermediate players, or beginners looking to take the next step up. Although the price of this bat is more than a beginners bat, the quality you get is definitely worth it. If you buy this bat complete you will save a fair bit of money. I have shown the breakdown below:
- Complete Bat – £66.98
- JOOLA Zack rubbers – £29.99 (each)
- JOOLA Falcon Allround blade – £59.99
- Total saving – £52.99
The prices indicated above are the current prices as of writing this article (25/08/23). Buying the bat complete also takes away the hassle of you needing to buy glue and assemble the bat yourself.
The rubbers are fairly durable therefore, you will be able to get a lot of play out of them before needing to replace them.
Conclusion
This bat, in my opinion, is great for any intermediate players looking to improve their control, spin & speed, or any beginner players looking to take the next step up with a good controlled bat for them. However, if you are looking at advancing to a more advanced level or you have already achieved this, this bat may not be suitable for you.
If you are still unsure if this bat is for you, feel free to ask any questions you may have in the comments below and we will be more than happy to help out.
Playing table tennis is one of my boys’s favourite pastimes when they are either at home on their own, or when they have friends over. But I had no idea that choosing a table tennis bat, could make such a big difference to the quality of the game.
The Bribar allround professional bat seems like a great choice for anyone that wants to up their game from a beginner to an intermediate. Although the [rice for the complete bat is a very big saving on buying the individual pieces, it is still an expensive bat, and much more than what I would normally budget for a table tennis bat.
I will share it with the family and see if the Bribar table tennis bat might be suitable for my boys.
Thank you for your comment. Investing in a good bat with good rubbers can help players improve drastically. Especially for those who play with ‘cheap’ bats as these will likely have little to no grip. Having grip on your bat is highly important as this is where you will generate spin from.
Relative to other more advanced bats, this bat is very cheap. Alone, some rubbers can cost £80 at the high end and the ones I currently use cost £60. This price is for one rubber, therefore to complete the bat it would cost double this and we haven’t discussed the costs of the blade. Some of the more advanced blades can cost up to £350.
Considering this, the Bribar allround professional bat is definitely a cheap option for anyone looking to improve from beginner to intermediate level.
